It’s that time of year again! Time to celebrate our country’s independence…The 4th of July. Fireworks, cookouts, parades, nature….wait, nature? What am I talking about?
Let me back up a bit. I love the 4th of July, just like my Grandmother. It was actually her very favorite holiday. She loved the hometown parade and always wore her crisp, white Ked sneakers. She loved this holiday more than any other.
For the past 10 years, we have always gone downtown to celebrate Independence Day. There are loud bands, delicious food and spectacular fireworks by the river. We spend the entire evening on blankets and lawn chairs until the sun sets and the sky gets dark. All the while eating that sweet, yummy kettle corn. We love it!
However, this year will be a little different. You see, last year, our daughter, Candice moved out to New Hampshire with her fiancé so he can attend school. We are going to see her on this long Fourth of July weekend! (Coincidently, the 4th of July just happens to be her favorite holiday as well!) We have a lot planned in a short amount of time and it looks like your typical patriotic events are not in the picture. And that is ok.
More than ok!
What better way to celebrate our great country than to experience the wonderful natural surroundings it has to offer? We will get to see her “purple mountains majesty”! (A little dramatic? Maybe… 🙂 ) But we are heading for the mountains to see Mt. Washington in all it’s glory. I can’t wait to be above the clouds and hear the wind blowing wildly way up high.
We will also see beautiful New England!
I guess the point is, it doesn’t really matter where or how you celebrate the 4th of July…It really is “America, the beautiful” established in 1776.
Which brings me back to my printable! I created this printable as a quick and easy way to decorate my house. Even though we will be gone for Independence Day, I still wanted to add some red, white, and blue to my home.
- Download the printable here.
- Make sure “Fit to Page” is Not checked.
- Cut around the lines.

I hope you enjoy the printable as well as the Holiday!
